Teenager Injured at Sniperley Park Development

A 17-year-old boy sustained serious injuries after being struck by a concrete pipe that fell on him at a building site.

The incident occurred shortly before 13:00 BST on Thursday at the Sniperley Park DH1 homes development in Durham, according to Durham Police.

Injuries and Medical Response

The police reported that the teenager suffered "life-threatening" injuries to his head and neck. He was transported to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where he remains under medical care.

Investigation Underway

The Health and Safety Executive is conducting an investigation in conjunction with the police. Inspectors have visited the private housing development site as part of their inquiry.
