Takeaway Driver Accused of Sexual Assault After Supplying Crack Cocaine
A takeaway delivery driver has been accused of handcuffing and raping a teenage girl who was allegedly given crack cocaine, a jury at Caernarfon Crown Court has heard.
The 16-year-old alleged victim, referred to as Child A for legal reasons, stated in police interviews that she told Mustafa Iqbal, aged 43, from Trellewelyn Road, Rhyl, that she did not want to engage in sexual activity with him.
However, a video presented to the jury featured the girl describing how she was sexually assaulted in a bedroom of a property in Prestatyn, Denbighshire, after being taken there by Iqbal.
Charges and Trial Details
Iqbal faces a total of 21 charges related to the sexual exploitation of three girls between 2022 and 2024. These charges include four counts of rape and two counts of conspiracy to traffic.
He is one of four men from Rhyl currently on trial at Caernarfon Crown Court. Iqbal denies three counts of raping the 16-year-old girl.
Additionally, he denies charges of raping a 15-year-old girl and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Rhyl in 2022, identified in court as Child B and Child C respectively.
Victim’s Account and Associated Individuals
In police interviews, the oldest alleged victim explained that she was picked up daily by Iqbal and driven to a property owned by Sarah Gray, 53, of Llanasa Road, Gronant.
She reported that Gray would accept crack cocaine from Iqbal and then leave him and the girl alone in the house.
Sarah Gray faces charges including perverting the course of justice, assisting an offender, conspiracy to supply cocaine, and conspiracy to supply cannabis.
The teenager recounted an incident where she smoked crack cocaine before Iqbal began sexually assaulting her on a bed. He then restrained her wrists with handcuffs.
"He raped me," she told the police.
When asked if she had given consent, she replied: "No."
"I could move but I couldn't get him off," she said.
"He made sure he was getting what he wanted, no matter what."
