Man Admits Assaulting Jewish People in North London
A man has admitted to harassing, threatening, and assaulting Jewish individuals in north London.
Dylan Ossei, 34, pleaded guilty to three religiously aggravated offences at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on Monday.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday on Southbury Road in Enfield, where two men, aged 58 and 26, and a 53-year-old woman were injured.
Ossei was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Wood Green Crown Court for sentencing at a later date.
'Message of Fear'
The Metropolitan Police previously reported that the three victims did not require further medical treatment.
Ossei, from Hornchurch, east London, pleaded guilty to the religiously aggravated assault of Lukas Pas, according to the prosecution.
He also admitted to using religiously aggravated, threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour.
Additionally, Ossei pleaded guilty to causing religiously aggravated fear or provocation of violence towards Natalie Bancroft.
The charge detailed that he used religiously aggravated, threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour with intent, which caused Bancroft to believe that "immediate unlawful violence would be used against her".
It was further stated that he demonstrated "hostility based on her presumed membership of a particular religious group."
Lisa Ramsarran, chief crown prosecutor for CPS London North, said: "Hate crimes like this cause harm that extends far beyond the immediate victims – they send a message of fear to entire communities."
