A flock of approximately 20 sheep caused significant disruption to the morning rush hour traffic on the A90 bypass in Aberdeen.

The animals were spotted on the southbound carriageway of the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR) near Kingswells at around 08:30.

Authorities closed the road at the location until the sheep could be safely escorted away from the carriageway.

The road was reopened at approximately 09:00, restoring normal traffic flow.
