Life Sentence for Rapist Who Intentionally Infected Victims with HIV
A "dangerous" rapist who intentionally infected five young men and two boys aged 15 and 17 with HIV has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 23 years.
Adam Hall, 43, sought to cause "pain and harm" to "vulnerable" men he targeted either online or at bars in Newcastle between 2016 and 2023, the city's crown court was told.
Hall, from Washington near Sunderland, was convicted of inflicting grievous bodily harm on seven victims, four of whom he raped.
The victims described feeling "violated" and suffering lifelong conditions and trauma, while Judge Edward Bindloss stated that the "selfish" actions of Hall had taken away their futures.
