Investigation Finds No Illegal Family Voting in By-Election

Police have concluded their investigation into allegations of illegal "family voting" and voter coercion during the Gorton and Denton by-election, determining there was "no evidence" to support such claims.

Nigel Farage, leader of Reform UK, initially reported concerns about "family voting" following the poll last month. These allegations were submitted to Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and the Electoral Commission for further examination.

Family voting refers to situations where a family member influences another person's vote, such as by accompanying them into the polling booth.

GMP stated:

"No evidence to suggest any intent to influence or refrain a person from voting as stated in the Ballot Secrecy Act 2023."
