Olly Murs has successfully completed the fourth day of his demanding endurance challenge aimed at raising funds for charity.

The singer-songwriter and television personality is undertaking a 249-mile (400km) journey involving running, cycling, and rowing from Manchester to London to support the children's charity Unicef.

42nd Birthday Marked by Grueling Effort

On Thursday, which coincided with Murs' 42nd birthday, he covered the route from Nether Heyford, Northamptonshire, to St Albans, Hertfordshire.

The Essex-born presenter described the day as particularly challenging, stating:

"It's been brutal today. My quad is so sore... I can't believe this is how I'm celebrating my 42nd birthday – something I'll never forget!"

Fundraising Progress and Challenge Details

Murs, known for hits such as "Troublemaker" and "Dance With Me Tonight," has raised over £610,000 so far during his five-day Into The Unknown Challenge, which is part of Soccer Aid's 20th anniversary celebrations.

Thursday's 50-mile (80km) segment included a rowing leg from Nether Heyford to Stoke Bruerne, followed by cycling through Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire, and concluded with a run from Redbourn to St Albans, Hertfordshire.

Community Support and Companions on the Route

As he approached St Albans Cathedral, Murs was accompanied by local runners, an experience he described as a significant encouragement:

"Nothing but respect for those guys. Thank you so much. I really needed that."

During the afternoon, he was joined by co-presenter and friend Mark Wright for a cycling segment, as well as British sprinter Adam Gemili for a running portion.

Challenge Format and Upcoming Conclusion

Throughout the challenge, Murs has not been informed of his daily route until shortly before each day's start.

The final day is scheduled for Friday, with the challenge concluding at the London Stadium.
