Part of Wider Regeneration Efforts

This bridge is a significant component of the regeneration efforts in the Channel View area. The council aims to develop 4,000 new homes and establish several new communities throughout the city as part of this initiative.

Bridge Specifications and Funding

The council will proceed to develop a funding strategy for the bridge, which is planned to be 165 metres (541 feet) long and six metres (19.6 feet) wide.

Promoting Sustainable Travel

"It will provide a safe, dedicated route for walking and cycling, creating a new east–west connection across the river that will encourage more sustainable journeys and reduce reliance on cars,"
said cabinet member for housing and communities Lynda Thorne.
