A murder investigation has been launched after a man died following the discovery of serious injuries in a close of a block of flats on Burgher Street in Glasgow. Police Scotland said they received a report at about 15:00 on Friday, and emergency services attended, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man has been named as 44-year-old Paul McMinigal.

Detective Chief Inspector Stephen McGrath said extensive inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

He added that officers want anyone in the local area to think back to whether they saw anything suspicious on Friday afternoon in the area of Burgher Street or Parkhead Cross, or anything in the days leading up to it.

He also urged members of the public to check CCTV and dash-cam footage, and said officers would remain in the area while the investigation continued.
