Man Shot in Bangor Sustains Severe Injuries

A man has sustained severe injuries after being shot in the leg in Bangor, County Down, according to police reports.

The shooting occurred in the Bloomfield Road area at approximately 22:40 BST on Tuesday evening.

Emergency services, including ambulance personnel and police officers, responded promptly to the scene. The injured man was subsequently transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

"Although his injuries are thankfully not likely to be fatal, they are severe and will no doubt leave him with lasting physical and emotional trauma," Det Sgt Gray said.

"This attack has caused fear and disruption in the very community those responsible for this criminal act claim to protect and there is no justification for this violence," the officer added.

Authorities have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward and provide any information that may assist in the investigation.
