Response from Stefan Hoggan

In response to the allegations, Hoggan issued a statement on social media, firmly denying the claims. He characterized the accusations as part of "a vile and disgusting vendetta" against him.

"I would completely refute the allegations, which I believe are part of a vile and disgusting vendetta against me."

Hoggan, who transitioned from a career as a para-athlete to politics, stated that he is cooperating fully with the police and intends to provide a comprehensive statement in due course.

Fife Council's Position

Lindsay Thomson, Fife Council's head of legal and democratic services, indicated that the council has not received any complaints related to Hoggan. She emphasized the council's commitment to safeguarding during the ongoing investigation.

"The council has not received any complaints about Mr Hoggan. We will take any safeguarding measures possible as the police investigation continues."
