Firefighters Respond to Blaze at Former Antrim Arms Hotel
Firefighters are currently responding to a fire at the former Antrim Arms hotel located in Ballycastle.
A spokesperson from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) confirmed that 42 firefighters, supported by two aerial appliances and a command support unit, are actively engaged at the scene.
The NIFRS reported that the initial emergency call was received at 20:08 BST on Sunday.
Authorities have advised local residents to keep their windows and doors closed as a precautionary measure. The public has also been urged to avoid the vicinity to facilitate firefighting efforts.

Safety Measures and Structural Concerns
More than a year ago, the local council established cordons around the building due to concerns about its structural integrity.
The property, which dates back to the 1700s, had an application for demolition refused last year.
Local Reactions and Police Actions
Alliance MLA Sian Mulholland expressed her distress over the incident.
"The fire has taken hold quite a bit in the back of the building and it's just really worrying both for the diamond area. But more so for just the loss of heritage and the loss of something that means so much to the people of this town," she said.
Mulholland also noted that police have closed major routes in and out of the diamond area to manage the situation.

She advised individuals, especially young people gathering near the scene, to return home and allow emergency services to perform their duties.
"Let the police and the fire service do their job," Mulholland added.
Heritage Concerns and Community Impact
Sinn Féin Councillor Cara McShane conveyed her deep concern regarding the fire.
"My immediate thoughts are with local residents and businesses who will be affected by this incident."
She emphasized the historical significance of the building, describing it as a cornerstone of the town’s heritage.
"This is an historic building and a cornerstone of the heritage in the town. However the wellbeing and safety of those living in the immediate vicinity is my main concern right now."
Firefighters continue to work to contain the blaze and ensure the safety of the surrounding area.
