Body of Missing Woman Found in Sandwell Valley Park Pool

A 55-year-old woman’s body was recovered from a pool at Sandwell Valley Country Park after she went missing in the water on Saturday. The death is not treated as suspicious. This follows several recent water-related fatalities during the summer heat.

Body Recovered from Sandwell Valley Country Park Pool

The body of a woman was recovered from a pool at Sandwell Valley Country Park on Saturday evening after she went missing in the water earlier that day.

Emergency services were alerted to Swan Pool in West Bromwich, West Midlands, following reports of the woman’s disappearance at approximately 16:30 BST on Saturday afternoon.

West Midlands Police confirmed that specialist teams were deployed to search the water, where they located the body. Despite efforts, the 55-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have stated that her death is not being treated as suspicious. Police are coordinating with the coroner as investigations continue.

The police force also expressed support for the woman’s family during this difficult time, stating:

"Our thoughts are with them at this tragic time."

West Midlands Fire Service reported that they were called to Swan Pool at 16:45 on Saturday following reports of a person in distress in the water. Fire crews, including specialist water rescue firefighters, arrived within five minutes to assist.

"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died," a spokesperson for the fire service said.

Recent Water-Related Deaths During Summer

This incident is one of several water-related fatalities occurring during the current summer period marked by hot weather.

Earlier on Saturday, police recovered the body of 22-year-old Brody Leach, who had reportedly entered the river in Shrewsbury in the early hours of Friday.

Other recent incidents include a man who died at a beach in Essex on Friday, and on Wednesday, a 50-year-old man was pronounced dead at Aberavon beach after experiencing difficulties while swimming in the sea off the south coast of Wales.

During a previous hot spell in May, several people lost their lives in water-related incidents, including a teenage girl in Warwickshire.
