Aberdeen Airport Security Staff Vote for Industrial Action
Security personnel at Aberdeen Airport have voted in favor of industrial action amid an ongoing pay dispute.
This decision follows the resolution of summer strikes at two of Scotland's busiest airports, Glasgow and Edinburgh, where new pay agreements were reached.
Paula Buchan, Unite industrial officer, reported that the ICTS HBS security members had unanimously supported the strike action.
"Imminent talks are scheduled with the employer and we await an improved pay offer to potentially resolve this dispute before strike action."
Recent Pay Agreements at Other Scottish Airports
On Monday, nearly 400 workers at Glasgow Airport accepted pay offers from ICTS and Menzies Aviation, which averted strikes during major events such as the World Cup and Commonwealth Games.
Similarly, over 400 employees at Edinburgh Airport agreed to a two-year pay deal.
Ongoing Dispute at Aberdeen Airport
While two groups of workers at Aberdeen recently accepted new pay deals, the security staff's vote indicates that strike action remains a possibility.
