A 20-year-old man has died following a traffic collision that occurred in the early hours near Dervock, County Antrim.

The incident took place on Castlecat Road shortly before 01:00 BST on Sunday.

Police Response and Investigation

Detective Inspector Stewart from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's (PSNI) collision investigation unit provided details about the incident.

"Police received a report of a collision involving a grey BMW.
Officers attended alongside emergency partners, and the male driver, who was from the Crossgar area, was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries, where he sadly passed away."

The road was closed overnight to allow for investigation but has since been reopened. Authorities have appealed to anyone with information about the collision to come forward and contact the police.
