Man Charged Following Bomb Hoax at Peter Kay Performance
A 19-year-old man has been charged with false communications in connection with a bomb hoax that resulted in the evacuation of a Peter Kay comedy show in Birmingham.
Omar Majed, from Washwood Heath, Birmingham, is scheduled to appear before magistrates in the city on Monday, according to West Midlands Police.
The incident occurred on Friday night at the Utilita Arena, where the venue was evacuated and the comedian was hurried off the stage after a report was made about a suspicious bag left in the vicinity.
Police conducted thorough searches of the area and confirmed that no suspicious items were found.
