Fatal Collision Claims Life of 18-Year-Old in South Wales

The family of an 18-year-old man who died in a collision in South Wales have described him as a "highly intelligent young man with his whole life ahead of him."

Dominic Luke Bailey from Cardiff died in the crash on the evening of Saturday, 6 June.

The collision occurred at approximately 8:00 PM on the A48 in the Tymbl area of St Nicholas, involving two vehicles - a grey MG and a black Land Rover Defender.

The police continue to investigate the incident and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area to come forward.

Details of the Victim and Family Tribute

Dominic Bailey had recently completed his A-level examinations at Bishop of Llandaff High School, where he had been a student for the past seven years.

His family added that he had received an offer to study at the University of Malaysia but had "decided to follow his dream of travelling the world instead."

"No one was like Dominic. He could put a smile on anyone's face and was a highly intelligent young man with his whole life ahead of him."

They further expressed their devastation at his passing, stating they were "devastated by his death and that life will never be the same without him."

Ongoing Police Investigation and Appeal

South Wales Police reported that the driver and passenger of the Land Rover were taken to hospital and remain under medical care.

The police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is urging anyone who witnessed the crash or the driving of the two vehicles prior to the incident to contact them.

Officers are also encouraging anyone who was travelling through the area at the time to review their dashcam or private CCTV footage for any relevant images.
