Survey on Life in Jersey Now Open
A new survey has been launched to collect islanders' perspectives on what life in Jersey is truly like, addressing issues such as the cost of living and health.
Statistics Jersey's annual Opinions and Lifestyle Survey is being distributed to 4,000 randomly selected households. The goal is to assist in the planning and delivery of public services in the future, according to organisers.
The 2026 survey will explore various topics including voting, wellbeing, and education.
Chief Statistician Ian Cope emphasised the importance of the survey as a direct means to hear from islanders about their lives, experiences, and priorities.
"The survey was an important way to hear directly from islanders about their 'lives, their experiences and what matters to them'."
Previous Survey Response and Importance
Results from the 2025 survey showed that 1,400 people completed the questionnaire, representing a 35% response rate from the more than 4,000 households selected.
"The results help shape how policies are developed and how services are planned, so it's vital that as many people as possible take part.
If you receive an invitation, I'd strongly encourage you to complete it. It's a simple way to make sure your voice is heard and reflected in decisions that affect the island.
I also want to reassure everyone that all responses are anonymous and protected by law."
Participation Details and Publication Timeline
Households selected to participate have an initial deadline of 26 June to complete the survey.
The results are scheduled to be published in December 2026.
