Fatal Shooting Incident in Dún Laoghaire

The fatal shooting occurred at approximately 08:30 local time on Sunday morning at Patrician Park, Kill Avenue, in south Dublin.

The man who died has been identified locally as Mark Cullen, aged 39. Cullen sustained a gunshot wound to the leg on Kill Avenue and subsequently bled to death at the scene as residents were making their way to Mass.

No arrests have been made to date, and Gardaí (Irish police) are actively investigating all circumstances surrounding the incident.

One line of inquiry suggests that Cullen, a Dublin native, was present in the area for a pre-arranged meeting and that the individual who shot him may not have intended to cause a fatality. Nevertheless, all investigative avenues remain open.
