Swiss Police Investigate Home Invasion Involving Former F1 Champion

Swiss authorities are currently investigating an alleged home invasion after reports emerged that Alain Prost, the four-time Formula 1 world champion, was injured during a robbery at his residence.

The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday morning at Prost's home in Nyon, located beside Lake Geneva in the Swiss canton of Vaud. According to the Swiss tabloid Blick, the 71-year-old Frenchman sustained a head injury during the intrusion, which involved intruders forcing his son to open a safe.

“The perpetrators entered the residence while the occupants were present, threatened them, and forced one family member to open a safe before fleeing with the stolen goods.”

Despite an extensive search operation, the perpetrators have not yet been apprehended.

Police reports, which did not name Prost directly, indicated that several intruders wearing balaclavas broke into the house. Once inside, they threatened the occupants and inflicted minor head injuries on one family member under circumstances that remain to be clarified.

“The perpetrators then forced another family member to open a safe before making their escape with stolen items, a precise inventory of which is currently being compiled.”

Blick further reported that Prost was visibly shaken by the violent intrusion and has since left the home following the incident.

Alain Prost is renowned for winning four Formula 1 world championships between 1985 and 1993, establishing himself as one of the sport’s greatest drivers.
