Jury Dismisses Elon Musk's Lawsuit Against OpenAI and Sam Altman
A California jury has dismissed Elon Musk's prominent lawsuit against OpenAI and its CEO Sam Altman.
The case was unanimously thrown out because Musk filed the lawsuit after the statute of limitations for such claims had expired.
Musk had accused Altman of breaching a non-profit agreement by transforming the ChatGPT developer into a for-profit company following Musk's $38 million (£28.5 million) donation.
Musk contended that Altman misled him by accepting his charitable contribution and then abandoning OpenAI's original non-profit mission to develop artificial intelligence (AI) technology for the benefit of humanity.
