Ross Kemp to Reprise Role in EastEnders
Actor Ross Kemp is confirmed to return to the BBC soap opera EastEnders, the broadcaster has announced. The 61-year-old will once again portray his iconic character, Grant Mitchell, for a brief period. Kemp had previously made a short return to Walford last year to mark the show's 40th anniversary.
"I'm truly delighted to be stepping back into Grant Mitchell's shoes and returning to EastEnders later this year,"
said Kemp in a statement, describing it as an "honour" to be involved in two significant storylines.
Producer Comments on Kemp's Return
Executive producer Ben Wadey expressed enthusiasm about Kemp's comeback, stating the production was "absolutely thrilled" to have him back in the "legendary role of Grant."

Kemp initially gained fame portraying Grant Mitchell throughout the 1990s before branching out into other acting roles and presenting documentary series on gangs. He returned to EastEnders for several episodes between 2005 and 2006, and again made guest appearances in 2016.

A spokesperson from EastEnders provided further information on the upcoming storyline:
"This year, Grant is called upon by his estranged son Mark to return to Walford, marking the first time the pair will be reunited since Mark learned the truth about his true parentage."
The spokesperson also promised that "viewers can expect explosive drama" but noted that "full details of Grant's comeback remain under wraps."
