Frugal Woman Avoids £30 Flight Luggage Fee by Posting Clothes
A 33-year-old woman from Cardiff has been praised as a money-saving "genius" after she shipped a month’s worth of clothing for just £2.59 to avoid paying a £30 luggage charge on a flight.
Laura Poole packed her clothes into a gym bag, which she then wrapped inside a Lidl carrier bag before dropping it off at her local Tesco Express InPost locker.

Laura flew from Bristol to Glasgow on February 22 for a month-long business trip. She sent "at least" five outfits, including suit jackets and dresses, saving £27.41 on the journey.
The confidence trainer sent the parcel on the Thursday evening before her Sunday morning flight, and it arrived safely in Glasgow shortly after she reached the city.
Inspired by Parcel Shipping Process on Vinted
Inspired by the parcel shipping process on Vinted, Laura shared her hack on social media and has since received thousands of comments, with many calling her a "genius".

"I’ve always been really frugal," she said. "I’ve got better things to spend my money on than really expensive baggage fees."
She added that she had used this travel hack before and knew it worked.
Other Money-Saving Travel Tips Shared
Laura’s post prompted others to share their own money-saving travel tips, such as stuffing clothes into a neck cushion or wearing cargo trousers with large pockets for extra storage.
For the trip, Laura also packed enough clothes in her cabin backpack to last two to three days.
"I would not post anything that I loved. That stuff goes in my backpack," she explained. "My thought process is if anything goes wrong, or it doesn’t arrive in time, I’ve got time to buy new clothes."
Appearance Important for Work
As a public speaker and trainer, Laura said her appearance was important for her job.
She included a variety of clothing items in the shipment.

"I need to look good. Suit jackets, trousers, all sorts - I threw it all in, dresses as well," she said.
Laura plans to use the same posting method when returning from the trip and has been surprised by the positive reaction to her post.
"There are always trolls whenever anything goes that big and people are always negative, but overall I’ve never been called a genius so much in my life."
