Patten and Heliovaara Win Second Wimbledon Title Together
Henry Patten of Great Britain and Finnish partner Harri Heliovaara have become the 11th team in the Open era to win multiple Wimbledon men's doubles titles.
The world number one duo secured their third major victory in as many years by reclaiming their Wimbledon men's doubles crown. They defeated El Salvador's Marcelo Arevalo and Croatia's Mate Pavic with a score of 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-3) before an enthusiastic Centre Court audience.
Following their victory, Patten collapsed to the ground after delivering an ace on their second match point, and was soon embraced by Heliovaara, who celebrated with a forward roll.
Patten and Heliovaara first won Wimbledon in 2024, despite having only formed their partnership earlier that year, and subsequently won the Australian Open in 2025. They reached the French Open final in June but were defeated, and also lost to Arevalo and Pavic in the Queen's Club final leading up to Wimbledon.
Nevertheless, they prevailed at the All England Club on Saturday, continuing their strong performance in tie-break situations to claim their fifth tour-leading title of the season.
Throughout the match, neither team was able to create a break point, as both pairs maintained exceptional serving standards. However, Patten and Heliovaara, who had previously won deciding-set tie-breaks in three of their five matches and six of the seven tie-breaks they contested overall, elevated their play when it mattered most.
They won four of the first five points in the first set tie-break to take control, and five of the first six points in the second set tie-break before securing the championship.
By achieving this feat, they became the first team since American legends Bob and Mike Bryan in 2011 to win multiple Wimbledon men's doubles titles.
The pair continue to build momentum, having attained the world number one ranking for the first time in June.
Patten is the first British player in the Open era to win the Wimbledon men's doubles title more than once, marking the fourth consecutive year a home player has claimed the title.
