Injury Returns Boost Ulster Ahead of Exeter Semi-Final

Ulster have received a positive update with Tom O'Toole, Nick Timoney, and Jude Postlethwaite all available for selection following injury ahead of Saturday's Challenge Cup semi-final against Exeter Chiefs at the Affidea Stadium, scheduled for 17:30 BST.

Timoney is set to return after recovering from a hip injury, while O'Toole and Postlethwaite have overcome hand injuries to be included in head coach Richie Murphy's plans.

"All reintegrated fully into team training and are available for selection," a squad update from Ulster Rugby stated on Monday.

Fitness Updates on Other Players

Decisions regarding the availability of Angus Bell (foot), James Hume (neck), and Bryn Ward (shoulder) will be made later in the week. All three players have resumed some elements of team training as they continue their recovery processes.

However, Callum Reid and Ben Carson will be unavailable for the semi-final due to foot and calf injuries, respectively. Both injuries were sustained during Ulster's 41-14 defeat to Munster in the United Rugby Championship match held in Limerick on Saturday.

Additionally, Eric O'Sullivan sustained a back injury during the same match, and his fitness will be closely monitored throughout the week.

Ulster's Ambition for Silverware

Ulster aims to secure their first major trophy in 20 years. The winner of the semi-final against Exeter Chiefs will advance to the final, where they will face the victor of the second semi-final between Montpellier and the Dragons. The final is scheduled to take place in Bilbao on 22 May.
