Gloucester mounted a comeback to defeat Sale Sharks 21-15 at Kingsholm, marking their first consecutive Premiership victories this season.
Sale Sharks started strongly with Alfie Longstaff scoring early, followed by a breakaway try from Tom O'Flaherty, establishing a 12-0 lead. However, Ben Loader's try responded to Gloucester's expansive gameplay, reflecting their efforts on the field.
During the second half, Gloucester faced a setback as Wales international scrum-half Tomos Williams sustained a shoulder injury and had to leave the game. Despite this, Charlie Atkinson scored a close-range try, and George Barton's successful conversion put Gloucester ahead.
Sale's George Ford then executed a 45-metre drop-goal, reclaiming a 15-14 lead for Sale. Nevertheless, Atkinson's second try with four minutes remaining ensured Gloucester secured the win.
This victory, Gloucester's fourth league win of the season, enhances their prospects of qualifying for next season's European Champions Cup. It also extends their lead to nine points over ninth-placed Harlequins, who are scheduled to play against bottom-ranked Newcastle Red Bulls on Sunday.
