LeBron James' Future Uncertain After Lakers' Playoff Exit
LeBron James, the only player to participate in 23 consecutive NBA seasons, may have played his final game for the Los Angeles Lakers following their playoff defeat.
The reigning champions, Oklahoma City Thunder, secured a 115-110 victory to complete a 4-0 sweep in the best-of-seven Western Conference semi-final series.
At 41 years old, James is set to become a free agent this summer, and it remains uncertain whether he will return for a record-extending 24th NBA season.
Recognized as one of the greatest players in NBA history, James holds the record as the league's all-time leading scorer and has earned four NBA championships along with four Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards.
In the game at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, James contributed 24 points. Meanwhile, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the current MVP candidate, led the Thunder with 35 points and added eight assists.
Thunder Advance to Western Conference Final
The Thunder, who previously swept the Phoenix Suns 4-0 in the first round of the playoffs, will face either the Minnesota Timberwolves or the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference final. Their series is currently tied 2-2.
Eastern Conference Semi-Finals Update
In the Eastern Conference semi-finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers secured a 112-103 home victory over the Detroit Pistons, leveling their series at 2-2.
Donovan Mitchell scored an impressive 43 points at Rocket Arena for the Cavaliers, who had lost the first two games of the series.
Mitchell tallied 39 points in the second half alone, matching the record set by Eric Floyd of the Golden State Warriors in 1987 for the most points scored in one half of a postseason game.
The winner of the Cavaliers-Pistons series will advance to face the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference final.
