Russell Claims Pole Position at Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix

George Russell ended a challenging streak without points in the last two grand prix events by securing pole position for the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.

Russell narrowly surpassed Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari by 0.064 seconds, while the dominant championship leader Kimi Antonelli qualified third in the other Mercedes car.

McLaren's Lando Norris qualified fourth, ahead of Red Bull's Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar. Meanwhile, Hamilton's teammate Charles Leclerc experienced a setback after crashing on his first lap during the final session, resulting in a 10th place start.

Oscar Piastri, Norris' teammate at McLaren, qualified seventh, followed by Racing Bulls' Liam Lawson and Audi's Nico Hulkenberg.
