Antonelli Secures Monaco Pole in Thrilling Qualifying
Kimi Antonelli, who has triumphed in the last four grands prix and leads the drivers' championship by 43 points ahead of Mercedes teammate George Russell, claimed pole position at the Monaco Grand Prix. In a dramatic qualifying session, Mercedes' Antonelli narrowly beat Red Bull's Max Verstappen to pole, with the lead changing hands three times in the final moments.
Antonelli emerged as the last driver to set the fastest lap, edging Verstappen by a mere 0.043 seconds to secure his fourth pole of the season.
Lewis Hamilton qualified third, making him the fastest Ferrari driver, finishing one position ahead of his teammate Charles Leclerc. Leclerc had briefly held the fastest time with two minutes remaining but unfortunately crashed on his final lap.
Antonelli's championship rival, George Russell, driving the second Mercedes, qualified sixth, positioned behind Red Bull's Isack Hadjar.
