Nottingham Forest achieved consecutive victories in the Netball Super League with a 64-58 win against NIC Leeds Rhinos, who suffered their eighth straight defeat.

Currently positioned fourth, Forest secured their fifth win of the season, moving to within one point of AO Manchester Thunder, who occupy third place.

Coach Praises Team's Speed and Resilience

Forest head coach Chelsea Pitman reflected on the match, emphasizing the team's playing style and the challenge posed by the opposition.

"Speed is our best friend," said Pitman after the victory.

"We play the game really quick with rapid transitions. That's when we are at our best and Rhinos were really good at disrupting that.

Kudos to them. They really took it to us. But I am really proud of us for grinding out the result."

Key Performers and Player of the Match

South African shooter Rolene Streutker led Forest’s scoring with 34 goals, supported by Anya Williams who contributed nine. Paige Reed was the top scorer for Rhinos with 31 goals.

Jayda Pechova, aged 20, recorded three rebounds for Forest and was named player of the match.

"I feel like I can still push a bit harder but I hope I can put my best foot forward to be selected for the England squad," Pechova stated.

Coach Pitman highlighted Pechova’s development throughout the season.

"Pechova is having a phenomenal season. The growth I have seen - and not just on the court - has been a blessing. She's such a coachable athlete.

What a year she's having, especially with it being a Commonwealth Games year."

Standings and Post-Season Prospects

With 18 points, Nottingham Forest enhanced their prospects for a top-four finish, which would secure qualification for the post-season stage. Leeds Rhinos remain in seventh place with only one win from nine matches.
