Swansea City Close to Naming New Sporting Director
Swansea City currently occupy 14th place in the Championship standings as they approach the appointment of a new sporting director, nearly seven months following the exit of former director of football Richard Montague.
After Montague's brief tenure ended last September, Swansea had indicated that chief executive Tom Gorringe alongside global head of recruitment and analytics Adam Worth would manage the responsibilities left vacant. However, the club has been actively pursuing a permanent replacement, and sources suggest they are now in advanced stages of recruiting for the position.
While the incoming individual will hold a different title, the role is expected to closely resemble the duties previously undertaken by Montague.
Adam Worth Announces Departure
Adam Worth, who has served nearly two years with the Championship club, has publicly confirmed his departure via social media to "pursue another opportunity."
"I leave the club with immense pride in the foundations we've built together and the value we've added to the squad. I have no doubt this has set us up for future success," Worth stated.
"The club is in great hands - with talented staff, an ambitious ownership group, and a squad that feels in a far healthier place heading into a summer window than it has in some time.
"I will always value the incredible relationships I've built at the club and wish everyone at Swansea City all the success in the world. I hope that one day our paths cross again so we can finish what we started together."
