Midfield Moves: Spurs Pursue Tonali and Fernandes

Roberto De Zerbi has been allocated substantial funds to strengthen his midfield, focusing on two major signings. Tottenham Hotspur are actively pursuing Sandro Tonali, despite Newcastle United's expectation of a significant transfer fee for the Italian international. Additionally, Spurs have entered the competition to acquire Mateus Fernandes.

Fernandes, a 21-year-old Portuguese midfielder, is anticipated to depart after his club's relegation from the Premier League. He made a strong impression following his £38 million transfer from Southampton last summer. Manchester United have identified Fernandes as a key target; however, Tottenham are prepared to outbid United financially. Real Madrid has also shown interest in the player.

Winger Interest: Summerville and Bowen

Tottenham is among several clubs monitoring West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville. Summerville has scored twice for the Netherlands during the World Cup, attracting attention from multiple Premier League teams. Alongside Spurs, Manchester United are tracking the winger's progress.

Separately, Aston Villa, Chelsea, and Everton have expressed interest in West Ham’s captain Jarrod Bowen. Despite this, West Ham are determined to retain their key player.

Chelsea's Defensive Targets: Palestra, Lacroix, and Ramón

Chelsea are contemplating a move for right-back Marco Palestra, who is also a primary target for Serie A champions Inter Milan. Inter have been negotiating a £38.8 million deal for the 21-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Cagliari and has earned two caps for Italy. Chelsea face competition from Inter and another Premier League club for Palestra’s signature.

With Xabi Alonso preparing his squad ahead of the new season, Chelsea are assessing their defensive options. At right-back, Alonso currently has Reece James and Malo Gusto, with the possibility of Gusto being transferred.

Alonso is also focusing on strengthening the centre-back position. Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix, aged 26, is a top target for Chelsea, although he has attracted interest from other clubs. Additionally, Chelsea are considering Como’s Jacobo Ramón as a potential signing. The club may pursue two centre-backs depending on outgoing transfers, amid uncertainty surrounding Trevoh Chalobah and Wesley Fofana.

Furthermore, Alonso requires additional depth at left-back following recent developments.
