Rangers' Berry and McAulay Receive Late Scotland Call-Up

Uncapped 18-year-old Laura Berry and fellow Rangers teenager Mia McAulay have been called up as replacements to the Scotland squad ahead of their Women's World Cup qualifying matches against Israel.

The call-ups follow the withdrawal of Como centre-back Sophie Howard and Newcastle United forward Freya Gregory.

This selection offers some consolation for midfielder McAulay and winger Berry after their defeat with Rangers in the Women's Scottish Cup final against Celtic on Sunday.

Berry, who will turn 19 on 11 June, could potentially make her full international debut by that date.

McAulay, already 19, aims to add to her four international caps as Melissa Andreatta's squad prepares to face Israel in the concluding Group B4 fixtures, which have been relocated to the Bozsik Arena in Budapest. The matches are scheduled for Friday and Tuesday, 9 June.

Scotland currently lead Group B4 on goal difference ahead of Belgium, with both teams remaining unbeaten.

Belgium's double-header is against bottom-placed Luxembourg, who have conceded 21 goals in their four games so far, giving Belgium confidence to surpass Scotland's four-goal advantage.

Israel sits two points behind both Scotland and Belgium and must secure two surprise victories over Scotland to top the group.

The group winner will be promoted to League A for the next Nations League cycle, while the top three teams will advance to the play-offs for a place at the 2027 World Cup finals in Brazil.
