Middlesbrough Demand Southampton's Expulsion from Championship Play-Off Final

Middlesbrough have released a statement calling for Southampton to be expelled from the Championship play-off final.

Boro will not be allowed to participate in the hearing conducted by the EFL regarding Southampton's alleged spying at their Rockliffe Park training ground last Thursday. This incident occurred in the lead-up to the first leg of their play-off semi-final at the Riverside Stadium.

They have described Southampton's actions as contrary to "sporting integrity and fair competition" and assert that a sporting sanction is the only just resolution.

Southampton secured victory over Middlesbrough in extra time during the second leg, advancing to the final scheduled for 23 May against Hull City. However, the final may need to be rescheduled depending on the outcome of the EFL hearing.
