Michael Carrick Nominated for Premier League Manager of the Season
Michael Carrick, the caretaker head coach of Manchester United, has been included in the six-man shortlist for the Premier League's Manager of the Season award.
Carrick has managed 15 games since taking over from Ruben Amorim in January, achieving 10 wins during this period. He is shortlisted alongside Arsenal's Mikel Arteta and Manchester City's Pep Guardiola, both contenders for this season's league title.
Other nominees include departing Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola, Brentford's Keith Andrews, and Sunderland's Regis le Bris.
Players Nominated for Premier League Player of the Season
Eight players have been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Season award. Among them are Arsenal's David Raya, Gabriel, and Declan Rice, as well as Manchester City's Antoine Semenyo and Erling Haaland.
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, Brentford striker Igor Thiago, and Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White are also on the shortlist.
Young Player of the Season Nominees
The Premier League Young Player of the Season category, designated for players aged 23 or younger at the start of the campaign, features West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes, Newcastle full-back Lewis Hall, Brentford right-back Michael Kayode, and Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.
Additionally, Bournemouth teammates Junior Kroupi and Alex Scott, along with Manchester City duo Rayan Cherki and Nico O'Reilly, complete the eight-man shortlist.
The winners will be determined through a combination of public voting and evaluation by a panel of football experts.
Manchester United Expected to Recommend Carrick for Permanent Role
Manchester United officials are anticipated to recommend Michael Carrick for the permanent managerial position following his successful tenure as caretaker manager. During his spell, Carrick has achieved a win rate of 66.7%.
The 44-year-old former United midfielder has guided the team from seventh to third place in the Premier League table, securing a return to the Champions League. Since Carrick's appointment on 13 January, no Premier League club has accumulated more points (33) than Manchester United.
Arsenal's Mikel Arteta is two wins away from securing Arsenal's first Premier League title since 2004, but he faces competition from Pep Guardiola, who could claim the Manager of the Season award for a sixth time.
Andoni Iraola has led Bournemouth to the verge of qualifying for European competition for the first time in the club's history. Similarly, Keith Andrews has the opportunity to achieve this milestone with Brentford in his debut managerial season.
Meanwhile, under Regis le Bris, Sunderland have maintained a position in the top half of the table during their first season back in the English top flight, avoiding relegation concerns.
