O'Neill Confirmed as Celtic's Permanent Manager
Martin O'Neill has been officially appointed as Celtic's permanent manager following two interim periods last season that culminated in winning both the Premiership and the Scottish Cup.
The 74-year-old has signed a one-year contract with an option to extend for an additional year after discussions with Celtic's principal shareholder, Dermot Desmond.
O'Neill returned to Celtic in late October on a temporary basis, marking 20 years since his successful five-year tenure as the club's manager. His appointment came after Brendan Rodgers' departure.
During his initial interim spell, O'Neill secured victories in all domestic matches across eight games, with the sole defeat occurring against Midtjylland in the Europa League. Subsequently, he stepped aside for Wilfried Nancy.
However, Nancy's tenure was short-lived, as he suffered six defeats in eight matches, prompting O'Neill's return in early January to lead the team until the end of the season.
