Sporting's Away Record and Manager's Comments

Sporting remain unbeaten in their last 12 matches across all competitions. However, the team has not secured an away victory at this stage of the competition or beyond since 2005. Ahead of their upcoming fixture, Sporting's manager Rui Borges addressed the media.

For me, [Bodø/Glimt’s presence in the last 16] is not in the least surprising. Last season they reached the semi-finals of the Europa League, and this term they’ve already beaten some great sides. We are two teams with enormous ambition, a little different in terms of approach. Two teams determined to make history.

Bodø/Glimt Manager's Perspective

Bodø/Glimt's manager Kjetil Knutsen also spoke to the press prior to the match, expressing confidence despite the challenge posed by Sporting.

We have had good results against teams from Portugal, that’s for sure, but this is a different team and we know we are playing against a top, top European side. We know all about them and they know all about us; there are no secrets.

Other Football Fixtures

Beyond the current competition, several English Football League (EFL) matches are scheduled, including Coventry versus Preston. Updates will be provided at half-time and full-time intervals.

João Pedro and Cole Palmer played pivotal roles in Chelsea’s Club World Cup victory last summer. Match Preview and Background

Welcome to this live coverage of the football fixtures featuring Paris Saint-Germain versus Chelsea at the Parc des Princes and Bodø/Glimt versus Sporting at Aspmyra Stadion.

In their previous encounter, Chelsea defeated PSG 3-0. The Club World Cup final was notably intense, culminating in João Neves receiving a red card for pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair, followed by a light slap from Luis Enrique to João Pedro in the aftermath. Enrique stated, “there is no feeling of revenge for us,” though the players’ sentiments remain to be seen.

Bodø/Glimt have been a revelation in the Champions League this season. As debutants, they were winless in their first six group stage matches but then achieved historic victories against Manchester City, Atlético Madrid, and Inter Milan. Sporting had a comparatively smoother group stage, finishing among the top eight and securing a win over PSG. The question remains whether Sporting can replicate this success in the challenging conditions of the Arctic Circle.
