Hull City to Celebrate Premier League Promotion with Open-Top Bus Parade

Hull City will mark their return to the Premier League with an open-top bus parade through the streets of Hull on Monday, the club and city council have confirmed.

The Tigers secured their promotion by defeating Middlesbrough 1-0 in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium, thanks to a late close-range goal from Oli McBurnie.

A footballer, with his top off exposing a sports vest, holds both hands up in celebration as a team-mate reaches out to him. Behind them fans in the terraces go wild.

Council Leader Praises Team's Resilience

"I would like to offer huge congratulations to Hull City on their fantastic victory at Wembley, and on securing their well-deserved return to the Premier League.
Their journey to this moment has not been an easy one - from being tipped as relegation candidates at the start of the season, to all the uncertainty relating to who they would face in the play-offs at the end - the team have come through it all.
The club, players and fans have shown the true resilience associated with our city to overcome the odds, and can now prepare for the global audiences the Premier League attracts to further showcase themselves and Hull as a city to the rest of the world."

These remarks were made by council leader Mike Ross, who highlighted the significance of the club's achievement and the pride it brings to the city.

Road Closures and Previous Celebrations

The city council has announced that several roads will be closed or have restrictions during the parade to ensure public safety and smooth proceedings.

This parade will be the second major celebratory event in Hull within a year, following the Super League champions Hull KR's celebration in Queen Victoria Square in October 2025.
