FPL Final Week: Key Low-Ownership Players to Boost Your Mini-League Score

With one Premier League round left, FPL expert Prasun Singhal highlights low-ownership players like Richarlison, Jaidon Anthony, and Cody Gakpo who could impact your mini-league standings.

Tottenham forward Richarlison

Richarlison - Tottenham

Position: Forward
Fixture: Everton (h)
Owned: 6.4%

With only one round of Premier League fixtures left, selecting players with low ownership could be vital to surpassing rivals in your mini-league. Tottenham forward Richarlison, valued at £6.4m in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), is a notable option. Spurs enter their final home game highly motivated, as a draw is likely sufficient to secure their Premier League status for next season.

Under manager Roberto de Zerbi, Tottenham have shown marked improvement in performance. With Dominic Solanke sidelined due to injury, Richarlison has assumed the primary striking role, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the last four matches. He has played the full 90 minutes in each of the previous three games.

Jaidon Anthony - Burnley

Position: Midfielder
Fixture: Wolves (h)
Owned: 1.9%

Burnley winger Jaidon Anthony represents a high-risk, high-reward pick. Burnley have shown resilience under Mike Jackson recently, earning a point against Aston Villa and narrowly losing at Arsenal. Their final home fixture is against Wolves, who have conceded 12 goals in their last four away matches. Anthony, who has accumulated 125 points this season, could capitalize on Wolves’ defensive vulnerabilities.

Cody Gakpo - Liverpool

Position: Midfielder
Fixture: Brentford (h)
Owned: 5.6%

Liverpool midfielder Cody Gakpo is a bold choice for the final gameweek. Despite reports of player unrest and internal tensions, Gakpo appears to be favored by manager Arne Slot, having started every match since gameweek 20. With Alexander Isak’s fitness still uncertain, Gakpo could again lead the attack. If the fixture against Brentford produces goals, the Dutch international is likely to be involved.

Gibbs-White & Bowen Represent Great Gambles

FPL analyst Statman Dave highlights players from Bournemouth, Liverpool, Spurs, and West Ham as key options since these teams have objectives to achieve in the final round.

"You are looking at Bournemouth, Liverpool, Spurs and West Ham players as ones that you want to bring in. They are the four teams who have something to play for. If you want to throw in a Morgan Gibbs-White, that is a great gamble.
"The priority would be Virgil van Dijk, Dominik Szoboszlai or Junior Kroupi, who has three goals in his past four starts.
"One of the most transferred in players this week is Jarrod Bowen. He has eight goals and 10 assists this season - a combined tally of 18 that accounts for around 42% of West Ham's goals in the league. I would go down the line of him being the number one transfer in."

Former professional footballer Chris Sutton offers a cautious perspective on making transfers late in the season.

"Why would I risk taking a minus four to bring someone in? It is so difficult. I was thinking Bruno Fernandes or Erling Haaland [as captain]. You would think that Pep Guardiola will want to win by a big score in his last game at Manchester City."
