McLeish to Lead St Mirren Until Season's Conclusion

Craig McLeish will continue as the interim manager of St Mirren for the remainder of the current season, the Scottish Premiership club has officially announced.

At 36 years old, McLeish has managed the Buddies in their last two matches—a home defeat against Rangers and a victory at Falkirk—after Stephen Robinson departed to take the managerial role at Aberdeen.

Additionally, Stuart Taylor will join St Mirren as interim assistant manager. He will work alongside Marc Kelly, Jamie Langfield, and Allan McManus, who remain part of McLeish's coaching staff.

Taylor, a former player with 90 appearances for St Mirren, brings coaching experience from clubs including Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Stoke City, and Ipswich Town.

St Mirren, who are League Cup winners and currently Scottish Cup semi-finalists, are set to host Aberdeen, managed by former St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson, next Saturday.

The Paisley club currently sits 10th in the Scottish Premiership standings, positioned above Kilmarnock on goal difference and trailing Aberdeen by three points.

Following their league fixture at Celtic on 11 April, McLeish's team will face Celtic again in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden on 19 April.

"I'm delighted to be given the opportunity to lead the group for the rest of the season," McLeish told club media.
"We've got a lot of big games to look forward to, including the cup semi-final, and I can't wait to take part in that opportunity as well.
"We spoke to a number of different people and Stuart ticked all the boxes with his level of experience. He's been down in the English Premier League, has managed himself, is very good on the grass and on the coaching pitch, and is ultimately a really good person and good about the place. Everyone I spoke to spoke really highly of him."
