Gilmour Injury Causes Concern for Scotland Ahead of World Cup
Billy Gilmour received support from his Scotland teammates after sustaining a knee injury during the 4-1 friendly victory against Curacao.
Scotland's head coach, Steve Clarke, expressed significant concern about the midfielder's condition following the incident. The 24-year-old Napoli player is scheduled for a scan later on Saturday. Clarke conveyed his hopes for Gilmour's recovery, stating he is "hoping and praying he'll be on the plane" as the Scottish squad prepares to travel to the United States on Sunday.
Gilmour began the match at Hampden Park but was substituted after experiencing knee discomfort. His replacement, Findlay Curtis, contributed by scoring Scotland's first-half equalizer. The team went on to secure the win with two goals from Lawrence Shankland in the second half and a late penalty converted by Ryan Christie.
