Carlos Queiroz Steps Down as Ghana Head Coach
Carlos Queiroz has resigned from his position as Ghana's head coach after three months in charge, following the team's exit from the World Cup in the round of 32.
The 73-year-old took over the Ghana national team in April and guided them to a third-place finish in Group L. However, Ghana was eliminated after a 1-0 defeat to Colombia in the first knockout round.
Queiroz, who previously served as Manchester United assistant manager from 2002 to 2003 and again from 2004 to 2008, was managing at his fifth consecutive World Cup. His prior World Cup managerial roles included leading Iran, Portugal, and Egypt at major tournaments.
He was among two World Cup managers to leave their posts on Sunday, with Jordan also parting ways with head coach Jamal Sellami after finishing fourth in Group J.
