Devils Secure Overtime Victory Against Flames
Joey Martin scored twice to lead the Cardiff Devils to a 3-2 overtime victory over the Guildford Flames in the Elite League.
Following a 5-2 home defeat to the Sheffield Steelers on Saturday, the Devils rebounded strongly on the road.
Lewis Hook opened the scoring for the Flames with a powerplay goal in the first period, but Joey Martin equalised in the second period.
Jack Jacome then put the Flames back in front heading into the third period. However, Martin scored again with just over a minute remaining in regulation time to level the match.
Gleason Fournier netted the winning goal in overtime, securing the victory for the Devils, who remain second in the league standings behind the Belfast Giants. The Devils will host the Giants on Friday night at 19:00 GMT.
