The 33-year-old Canadian was a key player for the Devils, participating in all 68 games during the season—one of only four players on the team to do so. Despite sustaining a broken thumb, Oligny remained on the ice for the final three weeks of the campaign, demonstrating his resilience and commitment to the team. This season marked his first playing year in Wales.

Before joining Cardiff Devils, Oligny gained experience internationally, having played for HKM Sloven in Slovakia and the Graz 99ers in Austria. Additionally, he spent six seasons with the Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League.
