Somerset Secure Quarter-Final Spot with Convincing Win
Jack Leach claimed three wickets as Somerset defeated Worcestershire Rapids by 78 runs in a crucial T20 Blast group stage decider, keeping their title defence alive. Will Smeed's half-century helped Somerset post a challenging total of 195. Jack Leach and Riley Meredith each took three wickets to dismiss Worcestershire for 116.
Essex secured a quarter-final berth as one of the best third-placed teams by beating Surrey by eight wickets at The Kia Oval, surpassing Lancashire Lightning who had earlier won against Durham but finished two points short.
Yorkshire continued their pursuit of a first T20 Blast title with an 18-run victory over Nottinghamshire at Headingley. Despite Joe Root's low score of 2, Adam Lyth's 52 contributed to Yorkshire's 193 total. Root then took two wickets as Nottinghamshire fell short.
Hampshire ensured a home quarter-final by defeating Sussex in the South Group. In the Central & West Group, Northamptonshire suffered their third defeat in four matches but had already secured top spot.

North Group
Yorkshire, aiming for their first T20 Blast title, started strongly against Nottinghamshire at a hot Headingley. Adam Lyth and Will Luxton (38) put on an 89-run opening partnership within eight overs. Jonny Bairstow (32) and Logan van Beek (28) contributed to setting Nottinghamshire a target of 194.
Joe Root took two wickets, supported by Andrew Tye (3-18) and Hassan Ali (2-30), reducing Nottinghamshire to 107-7. Dillon Pennington's late 37 runs briefly threatened Yorkshire's position before he was dismissed by Tye.

At Emirates Old Trafford, Lancashire struggled to chase Durham's 141 all out. Colin Ackermann scored 66 not out against tight bowling from Shadab Khan and Saqib Mahmood, who took three wickets each. Lancashire reached 117-4 by the 17th over, but Ben Raine's three-wicket spell (4-21) caused tension. Keaton Jennings (41 not out) guided Lancashire to victory with two balls remaining.
Essex's win over Surrey left Lancashire with 26 points, two behind the best third-placed teams Essex and Gloucestershire, both with 28 points.
Derbyshire Falcons avoided finishing last by defeating Leicestershire Foxes by seven wickets. Captain Aneurin Donald scored a career-best 91 as Derbyshire chased 171-8. Ashton Turner scored 79 for Leicestershire, while Akif Javed took 4-23, his best T20 figures.
South Group
Matt Critchley took three wickets for Essex as Surrey were bowled out for 123. Josh Philippe was the only Surrey batsman to score more than 30, with 33 runs. Michael Pepper's unbeaten 71 helped Essex chase the target inside 17 overs.

Surrey finished second behind Hampshire, missing out on a home quarter-final.
Hampshire secured a home quarter-final by beating Sussex by four wickets. Hilton Cartwright and Ben Mayes shared a 112-run partnership in 10 overs during the chase of 187. Cartwright scored 70 from 31 balls, and Mayes remained unbeaten on 55. Dan Hughes (55) and Charlie Tear (40 not out) contributed for Sussex, who finished bottom of the group with three wins from 12 games.
Middlesex ended their campaign with a 14-run win over Kent Spitfires at Canterbury. Zafar Gohar took 3-38, including the wicket of Zak Crawley (10). Ben Geddes top-scored with 32 as Middlesex posted 172-6, and Kent fell short of the target.
Central & West Group
In a decisive match for qualification, Somerset dominated Worcestershire. Will Smeed scored 52, supported by Thomas Rew's 42. Riley Meredith (3-17) and Jack Leach (3-20) bowled effectively to restrict Worcestershire, whose main contribution came from Gareth Roderick's 39.

Somerset won five of their last six group matches to finish second, edging Gloucestershire on net run rate. Worcestershire finished bottom of a closely contested group, with only four points separating them from Somerset.
Warwickshire avoided last place by defeating group leaders Northamptonshire by five wickets. Northamptonshire, already assured of top spot and a home quarter-final, were bowled out for 153. Saif Zaib (37) and Luke Procter (33 not out) were the only batsmen to pass 30. Warwickshire captain Beau Webster took 3-30. Kai Smith scored an unbeaten 65 in a 106-run partnership with Sam Hain (48 not out) to secure victory with 10 balls remaining, despite George Scrimshaw's 3-36.

Glamorgan achieved a 50-run win over Gloucestershire, who had already qualified for the quarter-finals. Captain Kiran Carlson led with 73 runs, supported by Will Smale (54) and Ben Kellaway (47), as Glamorgan posted 235-7. Dawid Malan scored 39 for Gloucestershire, but the team fell well short in the chase.
