Scotland Women Start Tri-Series with Victory Over Netherlands
Scotland have three more One Day Internationals (ODIs) scheduled in Edinburgh as part of the ongoing tri-series.
Netherlands innings: 141-8 in 20 overs. Top scorers were Robine Rijke with 46 runs, Babette de Leede Siegers with 32, and Frederique Overdijk with 22. Siegers also contributed with the ball, taking 1 wicket for 18 runs.
Scotland innings: 144-1 in 14.5 overs. Katherine Fraser remained unbeaten on 56, Darcey Carter scored 55, and captain Kathryn Bryce was 23 not out. Frederique Overdijk took the sole wicket for the Netherlands, while Kirstie Gordon claimed three wickets for Scotland, finishing with figures of 3-27.
Scotland women commenced their T20 tri-series in Edinburgh by defeating the Netherlands by nine wickets.
The Dutch side batted first, posting a total of 141 for 8 wickets. Robine Rijke was the highest scorer with 46 runs before being dismissed by Priyanaz Chatterji. Kirstie Gordon was the standout bowler for Scotland, taking three wickets.
In response, the Scottish team delivered a commanding performance. Darcey Carter scored 55 runs before being dismissed by Frederique Overdijk, who claimed the Netherlands' only wicket of the innings.
Katherine Fraser and captain Kathryn Bryce remained unbeaten on 56 and 23 runs respectively, guiding Scotland to a successful chase with a final score of 144 for 1 wicket.
Scotland are set to face Bangladesh twice, first on Saturday and again on Tuesday, followed by a second encounter with the Netherlands on Wednesday.
