New Zealand Secures Convincing Win Over Ireland at Stormont

Blair Tickner achieved a five-wicket haul in the second innings against Ireland during the one-off Test match held at Stormont.

New Zealand scored 490-8 declared in 119 overs, with notable contributions from Blundell (186) and Foxcroft (98). Ireland's bowling was led by Tector, who took 1-16.

In response, Ireland were dismissed for 179 runs in 45 overs in their first innings, with Balbirnie unbeaten on 73 and Adair scoring 40. New Zealand's Smith took 6-40.

On day three, Ireland resumed at 65-2 after New Zealand enforced the follow-on, facing a substantial deficit to overcome the Black Caps' declared total of 490-8.

The Irish side managed only 66 additional runs in the morning session under cloudy conditions in Belfast. Early wickets fell to Tom Mayes and Lorcan Tucker. Stephen Doheny reached his maiden Test half-century, surpassing 100 runs for Ireland, before being dismissed for 57. A rain shower prompted an early lunch break.

Before lunch, Curtis Campher retired hurt due to a hand injury, adding to Ireland's challenges.

In the afternoon session, Ireland's difficulties continued as Andy McBrine (13) and Lorcan Tucker (50) were dismissed. Tucker's fifty marked his fifth Test half-century. Nathan Smith took his eighth wicket of the match, contributing significantly to New Zealand's bowling effort.
