Ned Leonard Commits to Glamorgan Until 2028
Fast bowler Ned Leonard has secured a two-year contract extension with Glamorgan, extending his stay until the conclusion of the 2028 season.
The 23-year-old, born in London, initially joined Glamorgan on loan from Somerset in August 2024 before making the transfer permanent in October of the same year.
Outstanding Performance in 2025 T20 Blast
Leonard delivered an impressive performance during the 2025 T20 Blast campaign, leading the averages with 20 wickets at an average of 13.9. His achievements included a notable five-wicket haul against his former county, Somerset.
"The environment here has been brilliant for my development and I'm grateful for the support I've had," Leonard told the Glamorgan website.
Injury and Current Season Participation
Leonard missed the first six Championship games of the current season due to a back injury. However, he has participated in the opening matches of the ongoing T20 Blast tournament.
Provided his fitness continues to improve, Leonard is expected to contribute across all three formats for the remainder of the season.
Coaching Staff Comments
Glamorgan head coach Richard Dawson commented on Leonard's progress:
"Ned has shown real promise and worked incredibly hard to keep pushing his game forward. He's a talented young fast bowler with a great attitude."
