Savannah Guthrie to Resume Hosting Today Show
US television presenter Savannah Guthrie is set to return to the Today show on 6 April, nearly two months after the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie.
In her first interview since Nancy Guthrie went missing, Savannah expressed the emotional challenge of returning to work, emphasizing the importance of the show to her personal life.
"I can't not come back because it's my family," she said.
"I don't know if I can do it. I don't know if I'll belong anymore, but I would like to try," she added.
Details of Nancy Guthrie's Disappearance
Nancy Guthrie was last seen at her residence near Tucson, Arizona, on 1 February. Authorities suspect she was taken against her will; however, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
Savannah Guthrie's Perspective on Returning
Speaking with her former Today show co-host, Hoda Kotb, Savannah described her return as a vital part of her current purpose, acknowledging that she will be changed by the experience.
"Returning to the morning news programme is part of my purpose right now," she said, adding, "I am not gonna be the same."
Ongoing Investigation and Search Efforts
The nationwide search for Nancy Guthrie has generated several leads, including discarded gloves, DNA evidence, and alleged ransom notes; however, these have not resulted in significant breakthroughs.
Since the disappearance, Savannah and her siblings have actively engaged the public through multiple social media videos, including direct appeals to their mother's captor.
They have offered a $1 million (approximately £760,000) reward for information leading to Nancy Guthrie's safe return, supplementing the $100,000 reward provided by the FBI.
