Protests Begin in Washington DC and Worldwide
As the day begins in the United States, crowds have started to assemble in Washington DC. Meanwhile, Americans living abroad have already been protesting for several hours alongside their neighbors in countries including France, Portugal, Germany, Italy, and Greece.

Here is a snapshot of the protests organized internationally.
What to Know About the Third No Kings Protests
This marks the third series of protests occurring across the US since Donald Trump was re-elected president. According to my colleague, millions of people are expected to participate in more than 3,000 No Kings events in cities and small towns nationwide on Saturday.
"Millions of people are expected to protest against the Trump administration at more than 3,000 No Kings events in cities and small towns across the country on Saturday. Ezra Levin, co-founder of Indivisible, one of the groups coordinating No Kings, said he expected it to be ‘the biggest protest in American history’."
A flagship event will take place in Minnesota’s Twin Cities—Minneapolis and St Paul—where residents previously confronted a surge of federal immigration agents deployed by the Trump administration earlier this year. In January, federal agents killed two residents, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, who were observing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities.
Ezra Levin stated in January that the third No Kings protest is a response to growing outrage among Americans over ICE and the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) "reign of terror" in communities nationwide. Leah Greenberg, co-founder of Invisible, recently told that the war in Iran is also motivating people to take to the streets.
"Every No Kings is going to be about the issues that are driving people most at that moment," said Greenberg, "and it’s also going to be about the collective ways in which they begin to harm our democracy."

The flagship event in Minnesota’s Twin Cities follows massive anti-ICE demonstrations earlier this year after federal agents killed two residents.
Our reporters will provide updates from this and other events nationwide, at what organizers hope will be "the biggest protest in American history."
